Viscotears®

Viscotears® is an artificial tearfilm. The action of this tearfilm is 6-10hours, and therefore it should be applied to the eye 3-4 times daily. Viscotears is used to treat cases of dry eye disease symptomatically. Viscotears will have a positive effect in cases of decreased tear production (KCS - Dry eye) as well as in a defect in the composition of the tear film (qualitative tear film disease). Viscotears contains a carbomer which is similar to the carbomer in Fucithalmic®Vet.

Other drugs for the treatment of dry eye in the dog and cat include: Optimmune®, Ark-immune.
