Pred Forte® contains prednisolone, which is a corticosteroid. Corticosteroids are anti-inflammatory drugs with a high potence of action. Pred Forte® is mainly used to control inflammation inside the eye, in cases such as uveitis (inflammation of the lining of the eye (Uvea)), scleritis (inflammation of the shell of the eye) and retinal detachments.
If using Pred Forte® it is important as an owner to look out for sudden pain, such as it may occur in a corneal ulcers, because the prednisolone may stop healing of such ulcers. If you notice sudden pain and the dog or cat pawing it's eye, contact your vet a.s.a.p. and stop the Pred Forte® drops.
