In various breeds of dogs specific diseases have been proven to be inherited. The list below described the recognised eye diseases which are recognised as beeing INHERITED in the UNITED KINGDOM.

The Eye Scheme in the United Kingdom includes the BVA-KC(British Veterinary Association - Kennel Club) and the ISDS (International Sheep Dog Society) Eye Scheme.
